And It's Done!!

The auction is ended and there are some pretty lucky (and I'm sure happy) winners out there!

So many amazing donations from so many amazing people! Everyone who participated, whether from bidding or donating, is awesome. Thank you soooo much!

For those items that did not receive bids (I'm afraid they might have gotten lost in the sheer volume of awesomeness!), I will either extend the auction to some time later this month or (after talking to the donors and Kendra) see about having them offered at a set price elsewhere.

A signed copy of Inanimate Objects, by Kendra Saunders herself! It comes with glitter! And a note! And will even be signed by the cover model.

this guy

My name is Kendra L. Saunders and I was born in the very hot landscape of east Texas to
transplanted-Yankee parents. I spent years in the suburbs of Dallas/Fort Worth where it was too hot and
too dangerous to play outside or explore. Instead, I learned the joy of reading books, making up stories to
tell my parents and dreaming about exotic far off places like the rainforests of South America. By the age
of seven I had already decided I wanted to be an author of novels. In second grade my school asked the
students to dress up as what they wanted to be when they grew up, for Halloween. Amid ballerinas,
astronauts, doctors and  marine biologists, I walked into school wearing my dressiest suit, carrying a
briefcase in one hand and papers in the other. As if that wasn't weird enough, my first story assignment
was about a woman sailing far from home. My teacher remarked I was the only student she'd seen that
wrote about an adult.

I've stuck to that dream and that formula for all these years (though the briefcase has since disappeared).
I carry ugly notebooks with me at all times (they should be ugly. Who wants to carry around a pretty
notebook, when it will just be splashed upon, written in, abused, tossed around, torn and sat on?) and keep
a running commentary on my life, times and strange mind.

Musicality and lyrics are some of my greatest creative inspirations.
Professional credits:Kendra L. Saunders is the author of the magic realism novel Inanimate Objects and the dark comedy Death

designers Dmitry Sholokhov and Fabio Costa, among others, for Steampunk Magazine, The New England
Horror Writers and ipmnation.com. She reports regularly for Pure Textuality and writes helpful writing
articles for NerdCaliber's Pages of Note.

fashion magazines, listen to records on vinyl, plan her dream trip to England and attempt to travel back in

When not exposing her nerdy self to the world, she's creating her own friends and putting them in horrible, yet sometimes humorous situations.

Check out her YA Space Opera series starting with Elemental (Spencer Hill Press, 2012), continuing with FAE (SHP, December 2013), and ending sometime in the near future with a book she has yet to write. She's also authored a collection of Steampunk (zombie, werebot romance) flash fiction, if you're into those kinds of things, titled "To Love or Die in a Steamy-Reamy World." Her YA Contemporary Fantasy, ALMOST NIGHT, will be out this summer.

The personification of Aryan purity, Ellyssa's spent her whole life under her creator's strict training and guidance; her purpose is to eradicate inferior beings. She was genetically engineered to be the perfect soldier: strong, intelligent, unemotional, and telepathic.
Only Ellyssa isn't perfect.
Ellyssa feels emotions--a fact she's spent her life concealing. Until she encounters the epitome of inferiority: a dark-haired boy raised among renegades hiding since the Nazis won the war a century ago. He speaks to her telepathically, pushing thoughts into her mind, despite the impossibility of such a substandard person having psychic abilities
But he does.

A query critique from author Lisa Amowitz

Lisa Amowitz was born in Queens and raised in the wilds of Long Island, New York where she climbed trees, thought small creatures lived under rocks and studied ant hills. And drew. A lot.

When she hit her teens, she realized that Long Island was too small for her and she needed to escape. So she went to college in Pittsburgh. Go figure.

On leaving college, Lisa became a graphic designer living in New York City. She eventually married her husband of a zillion years, had two lovely children, and was swept away to a fairy tale life in the Bronx, where, unbelievably there are more trees and wilderness than her hometown. She can see the Hudson River from her kitchen window.

Lisa has been a professor of graphic design at her beloved Bronx Community College where she has been tormenting and cajoling students for nearly seventeen years. She started writing eight years ago because she wanted something to illustrate, but somehow, instead ended up writing YA. Probably because her mind is too dark and twisted for small children.

In 2010, she landed the agent of her dreams, Victoria Marini, whom she has repeatedly tried to fatten up with cupcakes.

BREAKING GLASS which will be released in July, 2013 from Spencer Hill Press, is her first published work. VISION, the first of the Finder series will be released in 2014, along with an unnamed sequel in the following year. LIFE AND BETH will also be released in the near future, along with really cool graphic novel style art. So stay tuned because Lisa is very hyper and has to create stuff to stay alive.

E-copies of Build a Man, Construct a Couple, and The Pollyana Plan, by bestselling author Talli Roland

I write humorous, romantic fiction with just a touch of snark. I live in London, on a street with two Starbucks and (at last count) three other cafés that I can't go to because I'm always broke, forcing me to stay home in my cozy little flat and make my own increasingly stonger brew.

I have a secret crush on Sir Alan of The Apprenticeand if I was forced to wax anyone's hairy chest it would have to be Simon Cowell.   Clearly I watch too much reality television.

And let this be my confession: I thoroughly enjoy the Daily Mail.

My debut novel, The Hating Game, was an Amazon Top 100 bestseller and short-listed for Best Romantic Read at the UK’s Festival of Romance, and my second,Watching Willow Watts, was selected as a 2011 Amazon Customer Favourite.Build A Man is my latest release. I also write the 24 Hours travel guides under the name Marsha Moore.

Good luck!

Query critique OR first chapter critique from Dawn Kurtagich

Dawn Kurtagich has a penchant for obsession.

By the time she was eighteen, she had been to fifteen schools across two continents and every single one was an adventure. Her formative years were spent in Africa, where she lived on a mission, in the bush, in the city, and in the desert. She's been lucky enough to ride an elephant and to see an elephant stampede at close range. She has also witnessed the stealing of her underwear by very large, very angry baboons (seriously, baboons are scary). She has some pretty interesting stories about the jumping African baboon spider, but she saves these for Halloween.

With a love of the horror genre and for darker stories in general, Dawn writes YA and adult fiction of a more speculative nature, delving into the mysterious sides of the universe and human nature. She can be found pretty much everywhere online, and does a weekly vlog over at her Youtube channel.

Check out her Query Tracker success story! And Good luck!

A signed set of the Mindjack Trilogy, by bestselling author Susan Kaye Quinn.

Edit: US only, please

Susan grew up in California, got a bunch of engineering degrees (B.S. Aerospace Engineering, M.S. Mechanical Engineering, Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering) and worked everywhere from NASA to NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research). She designed aircraft engines, studied global warming, and held elected office (as a school board member). Now that she writes novels, her business card says "Author and Rocket Scientist," but she mostly sits around in her pajamas in awe that she gets paid to make stuff up.

All her engineering skills come in handy when dreaming up dangerous mindpowers, future dystopic worlds, and slightly plausible steampunk inventions. For her stories, of course. Just ignore that stuff in the basement.

Susan writes from the Chicago suburbs with her three boys, two cats, and one husband. Which, it turns out, is exactly as much as she can handle.
